FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MTA METRO SUBWAY CUSTOMER ALERT

Metro Subway Maintenance Will Impact Weekend Schedule

BALTIMORE, MD (June 8, 2009) – The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) is advising Metro Subway customers of upcoming track maintenance that will affect the weekend service effective Saturday, June 13, 2009. Approximately one mile of the main line will be single-tracked throughout the four-month long maintenance project, scheduled for completion in October. As a result, the customer wait times for trains will be increased by an additional five minutes in each direction, to twenty minutes on Saturdays and Sundays only. Weekday operation is not expected to be impacted.

For general information on MTA service, visit the MTA website at www.mtamaryland.com.  Customers can also call the MTA Transit Information Center Monday through Friday from 6 A.M. to 7 P.M. at 410-539-5000 (TTY 410-539-3497) or 866-RIDE-MTA. To sign-up to receive email about service modifications and delays, go to www.mtamaryland.com  and click “Email Notification.”
