MARC Transit Link Card

MARC TRAIN

TRANSIT LINK CARD (TLC)

The recent Metro fare increases will raise the cost of the MARC and Commuter Bus Transit Link Cards (TLC).

Effective January 6, 2008 the cost of WMATA’s Transit Link Card will be $80 for MARC plus the cost of a monthly ticket.

MARC TLC tickets are offered through the MARC/CSX Ticket-By-Mail service or may be purchased at Commuter Stores
in Virginia.

The new rates will go into effect for both MARC Train and Commuter Bus services with the purchase of a February monthly ticket.

For only $65 ($80 effective January 6, 2008) more than the cost of your MARC monthly ticket, you can purchase a MARC Transit Link Card (TLC) and have unlimited monthly use of the Washington Metrorail system including weekend travel.

As with any MARC Train monthly ticket, you can use your TLC to ride Montgomery County RIDE ON buses and Maryland MTA Local Buses, Light Rail, Metro Subway, Neighborhood Shuttles, and Inner Harbor Water Taxis.

Your MARC TLC is also valid for the base fare on WMATA’s Metrobuses in Maryland, the District of Columbia, and Northern Virginia.  TLC passes may be purchased only through the CSX Ticket-by-Mail Program or from one of the Northern Virginia Commuter Stores.

Please be advised that CSX in Jacksonville, Florida administers the Ticket-by-Mail Program.  You may contact them at 888 - 226 - 5515.

In the event that the magnetic strip on your MARC TLC pass fails to read when transferring to either the Metrorail or Metrobus transit systems, you may request a new WMATA pass specifically for riding these Metro services.

Lost, stolen or damaged TLC passes will NOT be refunded or replaced by the MTA.
