MARC Ticket Purchasing

Online Purchases
Various MARC Tickets, including the Transit Link Card (TLC), may be purchased on-line at www.CommuterDirect.com.

Ticket-By-Mail Purchases
Regular monthly tickets and the Transit Link Card (TLC) are available by mail.  Click here for complete information including policies.  Tickets are ordered through Commuter Direct.com.

MARC Student Advantage Discount

Group Tickets
To qualify for the Group Rate, the number of any group must contain a minimum of 10 passengers and cannot exceed 25, NO EXCEPTIONS. Group travel may be excluded from rush hour trains due to limited seating capacity.  Customers must notify the MARC Group Sales Desk no later than TWO weeks prior to the date of travel at 410-454-7010 between the hours of 9:30 AM and 12:30 PM ONLY, Monday through Friday.  Groups MUST call the MARC Group Sales Desk AND receive confirmation in order to receive the group rate.  Group tickets are NOT issued at MARC or AMTRAK ticket locations without prior arrangements through the MARC Group Sales Desk.

Other Purchasing Options
One-way and two-trip tickets maybe purchased with CASH ONLY on trains when there is no ticket agent available. Tickets purchased on trains if the ticket office was open at the time of train departure are subject to a $3.00 penalty.

Tickets can be purchased with cash, Metrocheks or Commuter Choice Maryland Vouchers, at any staffed ticket office. For MARC station days of operation and times, click HERE. MetroCheks are accepted only with redeemable values of $1, $5, $10, $15, $20, $21, and $30. MetroCheks and Commuter Choice vouchers cannot be accepted in excess of the price of a ticket. Only totally unused MetroCheks are acceptable and tickets purchased are non-refundable.  

At Amtrak stations (Washington, New Carrollton, BWI Marshall, Baltimore Penn) and the four Commuter Stores in Virginia,
most major credit cards are accepted.  Passengers are required to show photo ID when buying MARC tickets at the ticket windows at Washington, New Carrollton, BWI Marshall Rail Station, and Baltimore Penn Station.  NO EXCEPTIONS!  Other MARC Stations accept MasterCard and Visa ONLY.
