To calculate the cost of Multi-Ride Tickets & Reduced Fares, search for the one-way fare from either rail chart. Use the Fare Conversion Table and identify the one-way fare to determine the price of a MARC ticket or pass.

Children
Children under the age of six may ride free with any passenger paying the full fare (limit of two children per full fare passenger). Additional children will be charged the appropriate full fare.

Seniors and People with Disabilities
Eligibility for Reduced Fares for Seniors, Persons with Disabilities and Medicare Cardholders                            

Senior citizens, sixty-five years of age or older (65+) must show

·         A valid MTA Senior photo ID card

·         Any valid government issued photo ID showing date of birth. (age 65+)

·         Medicare card and and any valid government issued photo ID.

Persons with disabilities must show

·         A valid MTA Disability photo ID card,

·         A valid disability ID from another transit agency and any valid government issued photo ID, or Medicare card and any valid government issued photo ID.

Medicare Cardholders must show

·         Medicare card and any valid government issued photo ID. 

Qualifying customers must keep one of the above in their possession at all times while boarding and riding MTA services and when purchasing reduced fares.  Additionally, one of the above must be presented on demand to MTA Police officers, fare inspectors, bus operators, Metro Subway station managers, and other MTA officials

College Students
College Students are eligible for reduced fares and may be asked for proof of eligibility at time of purchase or aboard the train.  See Student Advantage Program for MARC discounts.

Group Tickets (min. 10 or more passengers, max. 60)
Customers must notify the MARC Operations Center two weeks prior to departure
for reservations.  Call the MARC Operations Center at 410-454-7010 between the
hours of 9:30 AM and 12:30 PM Monday through Friday for more information and reservations.

Ticket Cross Honoring on Amtrak Trains
There are three (3) ways that MARC riders can use their monthly/weekly ticket to ride Amtrak Trains.  All Amtrak regional trains are now reserved daily; however, MARC monthly/weekly tickets will continue to be valid on certain trains. 

1.  MARC passengers can use monthly (including TLC tickets) and weekly tickets, on days that MARC operates, on Amtrak trains shown in the current MARC timetable.  Travel is restricted to the points indicated by the footnotes in the timetable.  Please note that many trains have restrictions on what city pairs MARC tickets are accepted.  Tickets must also be of the same or longer destinations to be honored.  For example, a Washington-Edgewood ticket is NOT good between Washington and Aberdeen.  Please note that Amtrak train 151 WILL NOT accept MARC passengers at Baltimore or BWI, regardless of the origin of the ticket.

2. MARC monthly and weekly ticket holders may ride Amtrak Reserved Regional trains that depart the boarding station before 6:00am or after 10:00pm Monday through Friday on days that MARC operates.  No additional step up fee is required.  This rule presently applies to Amtrak trains 187, 177, 169, 180 & 190.

3. On weekends and holidays that MARC does not operate, monthly and weekly tickets are good on CERTAIN Amtrak reserved Regional trains for no additional charge.  Monthly and weekly tickets are NOT valid on any premium service (Metroliner or Acela Express) or Reserved Regional trains 87, 135, 152, 156, 192 & 194; or any long distance trains operating outside of the MARC Penn Line service area.
