Alternate Parking Available
BALTIMORE, MD (April 1, 2020) – The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) today announced that one of two garages at the BWI Rail Station will be closed for approximately 30 days for deck repairs. Garage patrons will be directed to Garage 2 which will remain open during construction.
Overflow parking is also available at a surface parking lot at the intersection of Amtrak Way and MD 170. Airport shuttle buses will provide transportation between the overflow lot and the rail station. MARC Train customers may also board Penn Line trains at Odenton station located seven miles south where free parking is available.
Customers at BWI Station will notice the installation of steel supports beginning shortly. Permanent deck repairs will follow. Garage 1 was constructed in 1997 with five levels. Two additional levels were added in 2001 when Garage 2 was constructed. The garages are owned by the MTA and used by MARC Train and Amtrak customers as well as BWI Airport patrons.
MTA representatives will be available for the next several mornings to direct customers to Garage 2 or the overflow lot.
